Young Black Woman’s Racially Charged Tweet In Cracker Barrel Causes Outrage

Sadly, situations like this one seem to be getting more and more common these days. A young black woman walked into a Cracker Barrel restaurant. Here in Oklahoma, they do great food and are exceedingly friendly about it. They have great service too – I highly recommend them. But that’s not what she saw when she walked in. Ijeoma Oluo sent out the following outrageous, racist tweet: “At Cracker Barrel 4 the 1st time,” the tweet read. “Looking at the sea of white folk in cowboy hats & wondering ‘will they let my black a*s walk out of here?’” Funny, I’ve seen all kinds of races in Cracker Barrel here and it never struck me as racist. But then again, I don’t walk around with a chip on my shoulder and throwing the race card everywhere I go.

Who does something like this? I can’t imagine ever tweeting something like that. I guess everything is racist these days. It’s the last resort of a weak character and mind to throw the race card like this. White people experience racism just like anyone else… racism against anyone is wrong. But to pretend that a restaurant is somehow racist and against you because all you can manage to see when you walk in are the white faces there is just nuts. And if you are triggered by cowboy hats, there’s truly something wrong with you. I mean that.

From America Now:

A woman sparked controversy for a racially charged tweet she wrote while at a Cracker Barrel restaurant. (Warning: The image below contains strong language.)

Ijeoma Oluo’s tweet went viral after it was posted on July 30, and many readers were quick to express their outrage.

“At Cracker Barrel 4 the 1st time,” the tweet read. “Looking at the sea of white folk in cowboy hats & wondering ‘will they let my black a*s walk out of here?’”

Some readers bluntly called Oluo out for being racist.

“So you’re assuming something about a group of people based solely on their skin color?” one Twitter user questioned.

“So you’re judging people based on how they look?” another wrote.

“Sound pretty racist to me,” another user tweeted.

Another Twitter user said the Cracker Barrel restaurant near them “always has black, Hispanic, Asian, even whites w/o cowboy hats.”

“There is never any issue, generally its people there for food,” the user wrote, Twitchy reported.

This took place in Montana. I lived there for quite awhile. For the most part, there are very good, giving, kind people in Montana. It’s my turn to take offense at this SJW accusing them of this. What a troll. You know, being white doesn’t make you a racist and I’m sick of being labeled as one. The only racist I see here is this chick. You know what, you can take your ass and walk out of there. They are better off without your entitled racist attitude.

Cracker Barrel is an awesome restaurant. And frankly, I don’t even notice someone’s race when I deal with them. I notice the person. Someone needs to tell this person that people actually don’t care enough about her eating there to be racist and hate her. She’s just not that special. Bigotry knows no color, age or sex. You either are or you aren’t. This chick definitely is a bigot and she just made a fool of herself on Twitter. Way to go.
