Denzel Valentine undergoes arthroscopic procedure on ankle

Bulls guard Denzel Valentine’s rookie season was hampered at times by injuries to his left ankle. After the season, Valentine underwent a minor arthroscopic procedure on that ankle, a source familiar with the matter told The Athletic on Tuesday night. Valentine is expected to be ready to play for the Bulls in July at Summer League in Las Vegas. Valentine was a key part of the Bulls’ summer league championship last year. Valentine, the No. 14 overall pick in the 2016 draft, suffered a sprained left ankle during the first preseason game of his career and missed the rest of the preseason. He re-injured the ankle in a Jan. 2 win over the Charlotte Hornets and missed the next three games. On Monday night, Valentine posted a photo on Instagram in which he appeared to be wearing a walking boot on his left foot.
